Practical Perspectives on the Draft Code

On 24 September 2026, the drafting team met with partners from leading law firms specialising in corporate and capital markets law to discuss the draft European Capital Markets Code.

The participants provided detailed feedback on selected draft provisions from their perspective as legal practitioners, with particular attention to legal certainty, practical application and the reduction of regulatory complexity. The meeting formed part of the project’s broader dialogue with supervisory authorities, European institutions and legal practitioners on the proposed framework for European capital markets law.
