European Capital Markets Code Adopted at Fraueninsel Conference

On 22 and 23 October 2026, the research group met for a conference on Fraueninsel in Lake Chiemsee. The conference marked the culmination of the drafting phase of the European Capital Markets Code.

Following the conference on 8 May 2026, a draft Code was prepared together with explanatory comments. The draft was then thoroughly revised and refined, incorporating contributions from members of the research group. At the October conference, several substantive amendments were discussed and put to a vote.

The research group now adopted the European Capital Markets Code. Its adoption marks an important step towards a coherent and systematic framework for European capital markets law.
